Ms. Rena Kareo serves as the Chairperson of the Human Resource Committee at St. Joseph’s Hospital Kitgum, providing strategic leadership in overseeing the hospital’s workforce management, staff welfare, and human resource policy development.

In this role, Ms. Kareo leads the committee in formulating, reviewing, and advising the Board of Governors on human resource policies and practices that promote fairness, professionalism, and productivity. She ensures that staff recruitment, orientation, appraisal, and retention processes align with the hospital’s mission, Catholic health values, and national employment standards.

Ms. Kareo works closely with hospital management to monitor staffing levels, staff performance trends, and workforce capacity needs. Under her leadership, the committee provides oversight on matters related to employee welfare, workplace safety, and staff development, advocating for continuous professional training, career progression opportunities, and staff motivation initiatives.

Additionally, Ms. Kareo’s role includes guiding the committee in handling staff grievances, conflict resolution, and disciplinary procedures in collaboration with the Quality Assurance and Discipline Committee, ensuring fairness and adherence to institutional values.

Through her stewardship, the Human Resource Committee contributes to maintaining a skilled, ethical, and motivated workforce that upholds the hospital’s commitment to compassionate, high-quality, and dignified patient care for the community it serves.
