St. Joseph’s Hospital Kitgum is a Private Not for Profit General Hospital located in Northern Uganda and affiliated to the Uganda Catholic Medical Bureau (UCMB).St. Joseph’s Hospital Kitgum is currently seeking to recruit a suitable, skillful, qualified applicant with integrity/good morals, strong analytical skills, God fearing, and a team player to fill the following position:
Key Outputs:
- Quality nursing care to patients provided.
- Ward/health unit activities organized and managed
- Accountability to financial and other resources produced.
- Staff performance appraisal done.
- Daily, weekly and monthly report submitted.
Key Activities:
- Receiving patients, register admissions, discharge and deaths.
- Provide nursing care services to patients.
- Keeping patients comfortable and ensuring a healthy environment.
- Prepare and carry out sterile procedures.
- Participating in bed side procedures as a member of the caring team.
- Participate in Doctors/Clinical Officers Ward round.
- Preparing patients for meals and participating in serving them.
- Managing and accounting for allocated resources.
- Participate in research activities.
- Impart knowledge and skills to students and staff.
- Adhering to professional code of conducts and Ethics.
- Compiling of daily ward reports and handover to the in-coming shift.
- Carry any other duty that may be assigned from time to time.
- Must be trained at a registered level from a recognized Nursing-Midwifery Training Institution.
- At least two (2) years’ working experience as a Registered Nurse (A.N.O).
- Must be registered and licensed with the Nurses and Midwives Council.
- Ability to effectively provide guidance and counseling.
- Concern for quality and standards.
- Good customer care is a must.
