Kitgum, Uganda – Change is in the air, and it arrives with an abundance of blessings! Last week, the corridors of St. Joseph’s Hospital Kitgum were filled with joy, gratitude, and renewed hope as the hospital hosted its official Board Handover Ceremony.

The event was graced and blessed by His Grace Archbishop Raphael p’Mony Wokorach, the Metropolitan Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Gulu, who also assumed office as the Incoming Chairperson of the Board.

With his trademark warmth, wisdom, and gentle humor, His Grace transformed what is often a formal administrative exercise into a deeply inspiring celebration of community, shared vision, and servant leadership.

A Beautiful Charge: Leadership as a Sacred Trust

In an uplifting keynote address that captivated everyone present, Archbishop Raphael p’Mony Wokorach reminded both incoming and outgoing board members that leadership is, above all, a sacred trust. He emphasized the importance of transparency, mutual respect, accountability, and unity in guiding faith-based institutions toward meaningful service to the community.

Following his inspiring message, His Grace presided over the official transition ceremony, witnessing the handover of the formal documents and blessing the institutional stamp as it was passed from the outgoing leadership to the incoming board.

The ceremony also provided an opportunity to express heartfelt appreciation to the outgoing board led by Msgr. Vincent Ojok Adot, whose members have faithfully served the hospital and contributed significantly to its continued growth, governance, and service delivery.

As the outgoing board members received appreciation for their dedicated service, Msgr. Vincent Ojok Adot shared a touching reflection:
